
Great Neck Estates, NY – February 28, 2019 – The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:15 A.M. in Great Neck Estates.
According to Burglary Patten Team detectives, Defendant Donn Chung, 49, of Brooklyn, did enter into a residence on Shore Drive in Great Neck Estates. Donn Chung did remove several items from the residence without authority to do so and was observed by detectives entering a Gray 2008 Honda Civic.
When detectives attempted to stop him, Chung fled at a high rate of speed and drove over the property of a residence on Cedar Drive, causing approximately $1,000 US Currency in damage before continuing east on Cedar Drive.
Defendant Chung crashed into a storm drain off of Ridge Drive East and then fled on foot. As detectives attempted to place the defendant under arrest he did flail his arms in an aggressive manner, after a brief struggle, he was placed into custody.
Defendant Chung is under investigation for being involved in other burglaries that have occurred in Nassau County, including several in Port Washington.
Defendant Donn Chung is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
