Woodbury, NY – February 26, 2019 – The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Belgium man for an Assault that occurred on Friday, February 22, 2019 8:01 A.M. in Woodbury.
According to detectives, Second precinct police responded to a disturbance that occurred at The Inn at Fox Hollow located at 7755 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury. Upon arrival Police determined that the defendant, Joel Tambwe Djeko, 29, from Belgium was involved in a verbal dispute with a 32 year old, male victim. The argument escalated and the defendant punched the victim in the face with a cup causing a concussion, broken nose, and lacerations to his face.
Defendant, Djeko, was placed into police custody without incident. The victim was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The Defendant, Joel Tambwe Djeko is charged with Assault 2nd degree. He was arraigned on Sunday, February 23, 2019 at First District Court in Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
