
NEW YORK, NY – Suffolk County Police have arrested a man accused of robbing two 7-Eleven stores, an hour and a half apart, early Monday morning.
According to detectives, a man entered 7-Eleven, located at 139 Sunrise Highway in East Patchogue at approximately 1:30 a.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the man fled on foot. At approximately 3:05 a.m., the same man entered 7-Eleven, located at 863 Montauk Highway in Bayport, displayed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the man fled on foot.
After a thorough investigation, Fifth Squad detectives determined Daniel Riemenschneider was responsible for both armed robberies. Riemenschneider, 35, of Patchogue, was arrested at approximately 7 p.m. as he was leaving his workplace located, on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma.
Riemenschneider was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree and one count Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip this morning, July 24.
