NEW YORK – Legislator Leslie Kennedy joined other dignitaries this Thursday to welcome the opening of Stony Brook’s Advanced Specialty Care facility in Commack. Located at 500 Commack Road, this new facility promises to provide cutting edge health services to people across Long Island.
The idea behind this new facility is to bring all the benefits of Stony Brook Medicine to the people of Long Island. While this facility will provide Stony Brook’s primary care physicians and specialists, it is much more than that; Stony Brook University is both a research university and hospital, and the Advanced Specialty Care facility will offer all the innovative technology and research that goes along with an academic medical center. Stony Brook also offers a World Trade Center Wellness program on site to treat the specific needs of 911 responders.
“As a nurse, I know the importance of keeping up-to-date with medical procedures and practices,” said Legislator Kennedy; “I welcome this new facility, and I know it will provide the best health care available to the people of Suffolk County. I wish Stony Brook the best of luck as it integrates and provides much-needed services to our community.”
