
NEW YORK – On Saturday, April 1st, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Miller Place Fire Department to celebrate the Annual Inspection and Installation Dinner at the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. The celebration included honoring local firefighters for their years of service, inducting the new department officers, and presentations by government officials and community leaders.
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Miller Place Fire Department for protecting our community for over 65 years,” said Legislator Anker. “The dedication and service of the volunteers is vital for keeping local residents safe.”
Legislator Anker presented certificates to fifteen firefighters who were recognized for their dedicated years of service: Erica Harrison, Suzanne Bryant, John Passarella, Brine Gill, Anthony Italiano, and Michael Brunet were honored for 5 years of service; Irene Hayden for 10 years of service; Robert Ryder, William Finamore, and Joseph McCrain for 15 years of service; Joshua Hagermann and James Campbell for 20 years of service; John Tringone and Carmelo Morbillo for 25 years of service; and Neal Flatley for 30 years of service. The Miller Place Fire Department first opened its doors in 1952 and since then has created a safe and protected community.
