NEW YORK – Two lanes in both directions will be closed at the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge from 10pm to 5am on Feb. 15th & 16th in order to accommodate a crane on the bridge for steel rehabilitation work. One lane will remain open in either direction, except for a couple of intermittent full roadway closures for about 15 minutes each (one direction at a time) between midnight and 5 am.
This work is weather dependent and Tuesday, February 21 will be used as an alternative date should there be inclement weather.
Motorists should expect delays and plan additional travel time, or consider using the Throgs Neck Bridge as an alternate.
Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
