NEW YORK – Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) was just re-elected to the United States House of Representatives to continue representing the First Congressional District of New York. Following a resounding victory with approximately 59 percent of the vote, Congressman Zeldin released this statement:
“Throughout this entire campaign, we received an unwavering outpouring of support and momentum from the great voters across the First Congressional District. Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers for their dedication walking door to door, making phone calls, and getting out our message to voters. I could not be more grateful. I would also like to thank my opponent on a hard fought campaign.
It has been a privilege to serve as your Congressman for the past two years, and it is a true honor to be able to continue my work on your behalf. There are a number of opportunities presented on any given day to move us forward in a positive direction, and it’s such an honor to be leading that effort in the First Congressional District.
While I am proud of the incredible progress that we have made so far, there is still so much more that can be done to address the challenges facing our community, state and nation. In Congress, I will continue working to advance my New Era of American Strength agenda to protect America’s security at home and abroad, help grow our economy, support our veterans and first responders, improve the quality of education, repair our nation’s infrastructure, improve healthcare, and safeguard our environment.”
