Merrick, N.Y. – Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) recently thanked students and teachers at Fayette Elementary School in Merrick for their donations to his Coats for Kids campaign, which collects new and used coats for needy families on Long Island. The program has collected over 4,000 coats this year alone, with an estimated 22,000 coats collected over the 13 years the program has been running.
“I am pleased to announce a wave of overwhelming support for the Coats for Kids campaign this year,” McDonough said. “We have collected over 4,000 coats for needy families and many local schools have answered the call to action. Programs like this are vital to our community and will mean the world to a less fortunate Long Islander during these cold winter months.”
