
LONG ISLAND, NY – An unidentified 69-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital for serious non-life threatening injuries after crashing into a car in Massapequa Friday afternoon police say.
According to detectives, while traveling northbound on Hicksville Road on his motorcycle, the 69 year old operator was involved in a collision with a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Sunrise Highway. The 23 year old driver of the Corolla was attempting to make a left turn when the collision occurred.

As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist suffered a serious non-life threatening leg injury and was transported by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks. The investigation into this non-criminal accident continues.
