LONG ISLAND, NY – Nassau County Police and the Major Case Bureau Detectives are currently investigating a Robbery that occurred in Wantagh on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 12:35 pm.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male white entered into the TD Bank located at 3222 Sunrise Highway and presented a note to female teller demanding cash and that he had a weapon. After the teller complied and handed over an undetermined amount of US currency the subject fled on foot and dropped the proceeds in the bank before heading west on Sunrise Highway. There was no weapon displayed. There were no injuries reported. There were also 5 employees and customer in the bank at the time of the incident.
The subject is described as being white, 30-35 years of age, 6’00” tall, 180 Lbs., dark hooded sweat shirt, dark glasses, and jeans.
Detectives request that if anyone has information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
The fact that a suspect is accused with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
