LONG ISLAND, NY – The Nassau County Police and Major Case Bureau detectives arrested a Deer Park man for robbing a bank earlier this month.
According to detectives, TonyDiaz, 24, entered TD Bank on 5555 Merrick Road, approached a teller and handed him a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, Diaz fled the bank on foot northbound on Carmen Mill Road. During the Robbery, 5 employees and 1 customer were present, none of whom were injured.
Tony Diaz, 24, is being charged with Robbery 3rd degree and is set to be arraigned today, October 1, 2015 after robbing a Massapequa bank on September 13.
Robbery Squad Detectives report the arrest of TonyDiaz, 24, of Deer Park for the above listed crime. The defendant is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree. TonyDiaz will be arraigned on today, October 1, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a suspect is accused with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
