
LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which shots were fired in West Babylon last night.
Numerous gunshots were fired in the roadway in front of 927 Sterling Place at approximately 9:10 p.m. Bullets struck a parked Nissan Maxima and a Ford Taurus. Both vehicles were unoccupied. No one was injured by any bullets.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
The fact that a suspect is accused with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
