
LONG ISLAND, NY – Nassau County Police have arrested an individual for Possession of a Forged Device from an incident that occurred on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. in Hewlett.
According to detectives, Crimes Against Property Squad detectives responded to the Chase Bank located at 1304 Broadway after being notified by bank security they had discovered a skimmer device in the ATM machine. The detectives observed Vlad Mares 47, who has no known address at this time, enter the ATM area and removed the device using a small pry bar. Mares was placed under arrest without incident.
Vlad Mares 47, was charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged device and Grand Larceny 3rd degree. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Mares was charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged device and Grand Larceny 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 04, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
