
LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police arrested a Jericho man for driving while intoxicated after he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway early this morning.
According to police, Highway Patrol Officer Robert Scudellari was traveling eastbound on the LIE near Exit 53 when he observed a 2015 Maserati traveling westbound in the eastbound HOV lane at approximately 1:35 a.m.
Stuart Zeiff, 64, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and issued multiple traffic tickets for vehicle and traffic law violations.The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The driver, Stuart Zeiff, 64, of Jericho, was pulled over by Officer Scudelarri, and it was determined that Zeiff was intoxicated. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and was also issued multiple traffic tickets for vehicle and traffic law violations.
Zeiff is being held at the Fourth Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned this morning at First District Court in Central Islip.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
