
LONG ISLAND, NY – The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens man for Grand Larceny that occurred in Oceanside on August 12, 2015 at 8:15 am.
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, on April 25, 2015 a 52 year old male victim that while in his Oceanside business office gave a check to the defendant Orin Morris, 48, so work could be performed on a boiler. The defendant instructed the victim to write the check in the amount of $ 7500.00 US Dollars to Pro Form Piping that he and NCA Plumbing and Heating would do the job together.
Orin Morris, 48, is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree after making his victim give him a $7,500 check which he cashed and never did work for in return. He will be arraigned today, August 12, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The check was cashed but the defendant Orin Morris never started or performed any work. Subsequent to an investigation the defendant surrendered to Crime Against Property Squad Detectives and placed into police custody without incident.
Morris is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned today, August 12, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
