
LONG ISLAND, NY – The Third Squad reports the details of a Robbery which occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:22 P.M. in Hempstead.
According to detectives, a male black suspect, 20-25 years of age, 5’ 10” tall with a thin build wearing a baseball hat, jeans and sneakers entered the BP gas station located at 771 Peninsula Boulevard and displayed a dark handgun to the employee behind the counter. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. The employee was alone inside the store at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
Detectives ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
The fact that a suspect is accused with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
