
LONG ISLAND, NY – The accomplice of the carjacker who was convicted last month of running down two Suffolk County detectives during a traffic stop last year in Huntington pleaded guilty today during a court conference in Central Islip to robbery, criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, petty larceny and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle charges.
Nicholas Franzone’s crimes were for stealing gas and his participation in stealing a Commack woman’s car and her credit cards as he and his uncle, Chad Moriszan, were trying to evade capture after fleeing the scene of the police assault.

Both Northport men were eventually arrested hours later in a Central Islip Target store on Carleton Avenue when they tried to use a stolen credit card to buy a television.
Moriszan, 35, was sentenced last month to 25 years in prison for the assault on Officer Nicholas Guerrero and his partner.
Franzone, 23, will be sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho to three and one-half years in state prison on September 9.
