
LONG ISLAND, NY – The First Squad reports the details of a Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. in S. Hempstead.
According to detectives, a male victim, 37, received a phone call from an unknown suspect who stated a friend of the victim needed help at Irene Street and Central Avenue. When the victim arrived at the location in a vehicle he was met by a male black 5’ 8” tall, mid-twenties wearing a black hat, white shirt and blue shorts. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the keys to the car and cash. The victim complied handing over his phone, keys and cash. The suspect fled north on Central Avenue on foot. No injuries were reported.
Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
The fact that a suspect is accused with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
