LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in East Farmingdale tonight.
A man driving a Ford F350 pickup truck traveling northbound on Wellwood Avenue veered into oncoming traffic and struck a man driving a box truck at approximately 8:05 p.m.
The driver of the pickup truck, Brian Cannetti, 39, of Babylon, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck, Gerard Barsh, 45, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, to be evaluated.
Motor Carrier Safety Section officers were called to inspect both vehicles.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
