Cops: Oceanside Man, Joseph Tullo, 29, Charged with Possession of Fireworks; 539 Mortars; 91 Assorted Cakes

LONG ISLAND, NY – The Nassau County Arson and Bomb Squad detectives have arrested an Oceanside man for possessing fireworks from an incident which occurred in Oceanside on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 at approximately 7:40 P.M.
According to detectives, Fourth Precinct police officers responded to W. Henrietta Ave. upon receiving complaints for firework violations. Officers observed Joseph Tullo, 29, in front of his residence wiring Mortar tube racks in the street. There were 539 Mortar tubes set up, loaded with shells. On the grass apron next to the racks were 91 assorted cakes.
Joseph Tullo, 29, of Oceanside charged with Storage of Explosives, Licenses and Certificates. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Tullo is being charged with Storage of Explosives, Licenses and Certificates and was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday, July 5th, 2015 in First District Court, Hempstead.
