LONG ISLAND, NY – Nassau County Homicide Squad is investigating the discovery of a woman’s body yesterday June 23 in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, when a 69 year old male came home last night to find his wife’s body laying lifeless on the kitchen floor.
His wife, Sandra Bloom, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene when police were dispatched to the New Hyde Park home at 47 Knolls Drive.

Their son, Vaughn H. Bloom, 44 was found lying unconscious on the couch and in need of medical treatment. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
He was listed as being in guarded condition.
A subsequent Homicide investigation is underway.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
