
LONG ISLAND, NY – The Second Squad reports the details of an arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred this afternoon in Farmingdale.
According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations Officers, on routine patrol observed a red Honda Accord driving at a high rate of speed eastbound on South Front Street. The officers attempted to pull the vehicle over. The automobile finally came to a stop at a residence on Denton Place. A female driver exited the vehicle.
The officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the automobile and also observed a suboxone sublingual film packet on top of the center console. Defendant Yulisa R. Almonte, 24, of Copiague was placed under arrest without further incident.
Yulisa Almonte, 24 of Copiague was charged with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and 3 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Almonte is to be arraigned later today at the First District Court in Hempstead.
Subsequent to arrest, officers recovered a loaded 40 caliber glock handgun inside a center console, a loaded H&R nine shot revolver and a .22 caliber handgun inside a hidden compartment. Also recovered was a pill believed to be Oxycodone and an additional suboxone.
The defendant is being charged with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. She will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
