
LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police arrested a Centereach woman who was driving under the influence of drugs after she crashed into a fence in Bay Shore yesterday, April 21, 2015.
Third Precinct Police Officer Craig Knudsen attempted to pull over the driver of a 2010 Volkswagen at Manor Lane and Bay Shore Road in Bay Shore at approximately 1:35 p.m. Jennifer Jordan, the driver of the vehicle, fled and crashed through a fence on the side of the road at Sunrise Highway South Service Road, near Howells Road in Bay Shore. Officer Knudsen arrested Jordan at Howells Road and Richland Boulevard in Bay Shore a short time later. Jordan was not injured and there were no passengers in the vehicle.
Jennifer Jordan, 25, of Centereach, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Driving While Intoxicated Drugs, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Jordan, 25, of Centereach, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Driving While Intoxicated Drugs, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. She will be held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today, April 22, 2015.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
