
LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police arrested a Rocky Point woman for driving while intoxicated with a 13-year-old female child in the vehicle last evening.
According to police, Colleen Lopez, 47, was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe on Patchogue Yaphank Road when she was observed by a patrol officer assigned to DWI Enforcement as a member of the Safe-T Team at 8:40 p.m. An investigation by the officer revealed that Lopez was under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger in violation of Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The child was turned over to a responsible adult.
