
LONG ISLAND, NY – Nassau County detectives have arrested and charged two men with burglary from an incident that occurred in Garden City on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:43 A.M. and numerous burglaries that occurred throughout Nassau County.
According to Fourth Squad detectives, Garden City police officers responded to an alarm call at Mobil Gas Station located at 117 Franklin Ave. The officers observed a broken window and defendant Jermaine Clemmons, 35, of Roosevelt, inside the store. The defendant attempted to flee but was stopped by the officers.
Jermaine Clemmons, 35, of Roosevelt, is being charged with six counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree (Attempt) and Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Co-Defendant Stephen Hudson, 49, of Hempstead, was apprehended by officers while walking away from the scene. Subsequent investigation revealed that Clemmons had committed six additional burglaries in the past and that Hudson was involved in two of them.

- April 07, 2015 – Brothers Deli 345 Hempstead Tpke., W. Hempstead (Attempt)
- April 09, 2015 – Auto Fix Mobile Gas Station 117 Franklin Ave., Garden City
Clemmons is being charged with six counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree (Attempt) and Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Hudson is being charged with three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned today, Sunday, April 12, 2015 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
