
LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police arrested a man for attempting to break into a business in Sayville last evening.
According to the report, Fifth Precinct Patrol Officer Michael Ferrara observed a man with a flashlight walking in the roadway on N. Main Street at approximately 11:50 p.m. While interviewing the man, who was carrying a chisel and a wrench, Officer Ferrara received a call of an attempted burglary in the area. The officer determined that the man had used the tools to break a window at Alan S. Gross Plumbing and Heating, located at 380 N. Main Street, in an attempt to break into the business.

Collins is being held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
