Cops: Two Arrested in Medford Assisted Living Facility Burglary; Employee Monitored Break-In on Security Camera

LONG ISLAND, NY – Suffolk County Police today arrested a man and woman who burglarized a Medford assisted living facility early this morning who stole food and equipment.
According to the report, fifth precinct police officers responded to The Hamlet at Medford, located at 1529 North Ocean Ave., after a 911 call from an employee who observed a man and woman enter through a rear door and steal food and commercial cookware. The employee monitored the break-in on real time security footage. Officers arrested Allison Brown at the scene. Following an investigation, Dwayne Murphy was later arrested in Central Islip.
Allison Brown, 44, of Coram, was charged with Burglary. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Murphy, 42, who is housing challenged and Brown, 44, of West Yaphank Road, Coram, were each charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. Murphy was additionally charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree.
Brown was scheduled for arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip. Murphy will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on January 11.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
