Nassau Cops: Latent Fingerprint ID’s West Hempstead Man, Francisco Palacios, 26, in Garden City Commercial Burglary

(Long Island, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrest of a West Hempstead man on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 12:00 in Mineola for Burglary.
According to Third Squad detectives, on October 31, 2013 Third Squad detectives responded to Coach Realtors located at 116 7th Street, Garden City for a burglary. During the investigation a Nassau County Crime Scene detective discovered a latent fingerprint on items moved during the burglary. The print was determined to belong to the defendant Francisco J. Palacios, 26 of West Hempstead. Detectives located the defendant on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Mineola. He was placed under arrest without incident.
Defendant Francisco J. Palacios, 26 of West Hempstead, is charged with Burglary 3rd degree. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Palacios is charged with Burglary 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.

UPDATE 11/21/2014: According to detectives, on October 14, 2013 the owner of Italian Bistro, 70 East Old Country Road, Mineola discovered his business had been burglarized. The defendant Francisco J. Palacios, 26 had entered the restaurant and removed an unknown amount of cash as well as caused extensive damage to the rear door and windows. Palacios was observed on surveillance video during the burglary. On November 19, 2014 the owner noticed the defendant’s picture in an article related to Palacios arrest for burglary in Garden City. Third Squad detectives were notified along with Bureau of Special Operations officers who located Palacios in East Meadow and placed under arrest for the Mineola incident. Palacios is charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree.
