Nassau Detectives Make Cocaine Bust; Set Up Alleged Meeting with Brooklyn Man, Trevor Torres, 26, on Craigslist

(Long Island, NY) Nassau County Police have arrested a Brooklyn man for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Elmont.
According to Detectives, on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 detectives conducted a narcotics investigation at which time they were able to contact the defendant Trevor Torres, 26, of Brooklyn on Craigslist who did agree to sell an undisclosed amount of cocaine. They set up a meeting in Elmont; when the defendant arrived on Locustwood Boulevard he was in possession of cocaine and placed under arrest without incident.

Torres was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and was scheduled to be arraigned today, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
