Huntington Station Man, Adam Saalfield, 21, Charged in Stabbing Death of Woman Found Lying on Street

(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives have arrested a Huntington Station man in connection with the stabbing death of Maggie Rosales who was found lying on Lynch Street on October 12, 2014. Adam Saalfield, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by homicide detectives.

According to police, second precinct police officers responded to Lynch Street at approximately 11:25 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a woman injured, lying in the street. When officers arrived, they found Maggie Rosales had been stabbed in the torso. Rosales, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
Saalfield, of Huntington Station, was charged with Murder in the 2nd degree. He was held at the Third Precinct overnight and was scheduled to be arraigned today October 30 at First District Court in Central Islip.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
