Copiague Man, Derrick Tolliver, 37, Charged with Attempted Robbery at Roslyn Savings Bank in North Babylon

(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for attempting to rob a bank in North Babylon.
According to the report, a man entered the Roslyn Savings Bank, located at 1501 Deer Park Ave., approached a teller, and presented a note demanding cash. When the teller refused, the suspect fled the bank at 8:25 a.m.
A notification was broadcast describing the suspect and his clothing and the suspect, Derrick Tolliver, was located by a First Precinct police officer at a nearby 7-Eleven.
Suffolk County Pattern Crime Unit detectives charged Derrick Tolliver, 37, of Copiague, with Attempted Robbery 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 9.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
