(New York, NY) Long Island Exchange (http://www.longislandexchange.net), a privately owned digital publication providing Long Islanders with a wealth of information, news, local business data and more has announced the launch of LongIsland.guide, a new domain open to all beginning this week.
.GUIDE domain names can be registered for a minimum of one year and a maximum of ten years. The .GUIDE domain can include between 3 and 63 characters. According to research done by online domain name monitoring platform, Keep Alert, there are 700,000 domain names containing the term guide.
“LongIslandExchange.com provides information on the Long Island area and provides locals with news and information on business, entertainment and events to residents. Due to our dedicated efforts, our website is visited by a large number of local customers at various stages of their local information search” said John Colascione, Publisher and President of Searchen Networks Inc., the company which took over ownership of the website in 2014.
“Our small team, including myself is out in the field categorizing Long Island through imagery and more in an effort to truly be the “Guide to Everything That IS Long Island”; we’re the only locally run site that provides not just information, but actually imagery of every single hamlet and city within Nassau and Suffolk County including roads, and state parks [example]. The dot GUIDE domain helps us carry out, deliver and literate that mission.” Mr. Colascione added.
The Sunrise Period for .GUIDE for brands registered within the Trademark Clearinghouse started on July, 8 2014 and went through to September, 6 2014. Dot.GUIDE will be opened to all on September, 17 2014. The .GUIDE registry is Donuts. A pre-registration period at any Donuts Accredited Registrar allows for Pre-Registration, one of a series of more costly phases that make domain names available to consumers. The final phase in this process before General Availability (GA) is Pre-registration which is available now. Any business can register a dot guide domain.
