NYC Man, Michael Haywood, 32, Charged with Three Counts of Possession of Forged Instrument After Filling Prescriptions

(Valley Stream, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrest of a Manhattan man for Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 6:20 p.m. in Valley Stream.
According to Narcotics and Vice Squad detectives, Michael Haywood 32, of 301 W. 150th Street presented two forged prescriptions to a pharmacist at Dale Drugs located at 531 Merrick Road to be filled. When the defendant returned to pick up the prescriptions a Narcotics detective along with Bureau of Special Operation Officers placed him under arrest. Haywood was found to be in possession of a fraudulent New York State Identification card at the time of his arrest.

Haywood is charged with three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned today, Thursday September 11, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
