Nassau Police: Two Arrests, 22 Fraudulent Gift Cards Recovered at Target in Westbury

(Westbury, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrest of two Brooklyn men for Possession of a Forged Instrument from an incident that occurred on Monday, August 5, 2014 at 3:20 p.m. in Westbury.
According to Third Squad detectives, officers responded to the Target Store at 999 Corporate Drive for a call for Larceny. Upon arrival they observed the defendant Denton Saunders, 28 of 543 Hancock Street placing packages into the trunk of a 2010 Mercedes and defendant Ryan S. Fletcher, 25 of 140 Cadmen Plaza sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Saunders was observed dropping credit cards next to the vehicle and attempted to walk away before being stopped by an officer. The investigation revealed that the defendants were observed on store security purchasing multiple items using a stolen credit card. There were also a total of twenty two fraudulent gift cards recovered from the defendants which had been altered.

Fletcher is charged with 17 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, one count of Grand Larceny 4th degree, and Identity Theft 2nd degree.
Saunders is charged with three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, one count of Grand Larceny 4th degree and Identity Theft 2nd degree.
Both defendants will be arraigned today, Tuesday, August 05, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
