(Williston Park, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has arrested a Williston Park man, 18, for Attempted Murder on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 7:50 pm in Williston Park.
According to Third Squad detectives, the defendant Ruben A. Renderos, told his 14 year old juvenile brother that he wanted to kill himself. He also stated before doing so that he would kill the victim so he would not suffer being lonely.
Ruben A. Renderos then picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the male victim multiple times in the back, head, and chest. The victim called his parents who were not home at the time and asked if they could call the police.
Ruben A. Renderos then fled the residence on foot. Third Precinct Police Officers conducted a search and located the defendant a short time later walking on Jackson Avenue in the vicinity of Chaminade High School in Mineola. He was placed into police custody without incident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for his wounds. As of yesterday when the report was released, he was listed in stable condition.
Ruben A. Renderos is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, and possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
