(West Islip, NY) Suffolk County Police have released a photo of a man who robbed the People’s United Bank which is inside a Stop and Shop supermarket in West Islip on August 9 at approximately 3pm.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man.
According to police, the man entered the bank, located at 400 Union Blvd., on August 9 at approximately 3 p.m. approached a teller and demanded money. The teller complied with the man’s demands and he fled the store on foot.
The robber is described as white male, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin to medium build. He had a fair complexion, red hair and a goatee.
The suspect may also be responsible for a similar robbery that occurred on Friday August 2, 2013 at the People’s United Bank in Farmingville.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
