(Long Island, NY) A Medford motorist who struck a 16-year-old male teenager and then fled the scene only to return to falsely state to police that her companion was driving the car was sentenced to six months in jail today in Suffolk County court.
Milissa O’Brien, 39, pleaded guilty to Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Falsely Reporting an Incident and Driving without a Valid Driver’s License.
Justice Fernando Camacho put on the record his reasons for the six month jail sentence:
‘the defendant’s blood showed no presence of alcohol or drugs, O’Brien returned to the scene 20 minutes after the accident, and ultimately, according to witnesses, the teen suddenly ran into the roadway into the path of the car O’Brien was driving.’
