Two Freeport Teens Arrested for Theft of Tires and Rims in North Merrick

(Long Island, NY) According to detectives, on July 9, 2013 at 2:50 am two male black subjects were seen in the driveway of a North Merrick home removing tires and rims from a 2008 Honda Accord.
According to detectives, the North Merrick home was located on Midian Street.
The subjects fled the scene in a red older model Honda Civic and a black older model Honda Civic.
On July 11, 2013 two First Precinct officers on routine patrol were advised by a third officer that 2 cars that matched the description in the above crime were in front of 27 East Centennial Avenue, Roosevelt.
The officers responded to that location and observed 2 males sitting in a red Honda Civic. After an investigation Adam Durantes, 17, of 1 Shea Court, Freeport and Luis Manual Arias- Rodriquez, 18, of 231 W. Merrick Road, Freeport were placed under arrest without incident.
The defendants are being charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. They will be arraigned on July 11, 2013 at First District Court, Hempstead.
