(Long Island, NY) Aaron Hernandez won’t be allowed to marry the mother of his 7-month old daughter while he’s in jail, Bristol County Sherriff Tomas M. Hodgson told USA Today Sports.

If the couple were married Shayanna Jenkins, Hernandez’ fiancée, could be shielded from testifying against Hernandez at trial, the newspaper said. Hernandez is being held without bail after he plead not guilty last week to a first-degree murder charge in connection with the slaying of Odin Lloyd.
Hernandez has a long history of altercations with the law, some of which Jenkins has witnessed from their home in Hermosa Beach, CA where the police have been reported to have visited several times according to TMZ.
A few days before his arrest an acquaintance sued Hernandez claiming he was shot in a strip club, causing him to lose his left eye, earlier this year. He is also implicated in an unsolved double killing at a Boston night club last summer.
Police in his hometown of Bristol, Ct said that Boston police asked for their help with the double homicide investigation. Bristol police Lt. Kevin Morrell said the request was based on evidence developed through the investigation of Lloyd’s slaying. He said police were asked to search the same home in Bristol for both investigations and they seized a vehicle at the address on Friday.
According to a sworn complaint from Florida’s Eighth Judicial Circuit a restaurant worker at The Swamp in Gainesville told police that Hernandez punched him in the head while he was escorting the subject out of the business after a dispute about payment of a bill. Tim Tebow is listed as a witness.
Hernandez is being held at the Bristol County jail without bail.
