Gordon Woolf, 60, arrested on federal child porn charges
(Long Island, NY) An Ex-Nassau County Probation Officer was arrested on Tuesday for downloading and sharing online child pornography, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Gordon Woolf, 60, was placed into custody Department of Homeland Security agents who executed a search warrant at his Massapequa home this week. He is charged with federal child porn charges after allegedly sharing child pornography online approximately six months ago.
According to the court papers, Woolf, who was present at the time of the search, told agents that he’d been actively viewing child porn for approximately ten years. Woolf allegedly claimed to delete the files after watching them, allegedly telling the agents that it was “the only thing that arouses me,” but added that “it’s not right.”
Homeland Security agents recovered pornographic images of a 9-year-old girl on Woolf’s computer, and had discovered information that suggested that he had previously downloaded films featuring children as young as 8, according to court papers.
Woolf’s online activities were investigated after authorities discovered a computer registered to his IP address in January accessing online child pornography, court papers said.
Woolf remains in custody as of Wednesday and is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation, authorities said.
