Southampton Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff Attends Thatcher Funeral

(Long Island, NY) Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff who is attending Lady Margaret Thatcher‘s invitation only funeral at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, April 17, following Guild Hall lunch. On Thursday April 18 there will be a breakfast at Lady Thatcher’s burial site: the Chelsea Royal Hospital.
Representatives of the American group include Mrs. Shafiroff; Scott Elkins, Margaret Thatcher Foundation and Chelsea Royal Hospital Advisor; Charles Myers, Senior Managing Director Evercore Partners; Jane Siebels, Founder & CEO, Green Cay Asset Management and Trustee, John Templeton Foundation; Frank E. Holmes, Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer, U.S. Global Investors; members of the Singer Family; and members of the Petrie Family. The Thatcher family, members of the Royal Family, the current UK Prime Minister and former living UK Prime Ministers will be in attendance.
Active in numerous charitable activities, Mrs. Shafiroff has twice before chaired the Hospital’s Summer Party breaking fundraising records each time. She is also very active on Long Island with the Southampton Animal Shelter whose gala she has also chaired.
Later this week upon her return from London, she will be honored for her dedication as trustee of the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services. Mrs. Shafiroff is also a prominent member of the French Heritage Society and The Couture Council of F.I.T, as well as,a supporter of the National Meningitis Association and committee member of their Give Kids a Shot Gala on April 22.
