Dead Central Islip Resident Discovered Lying In Church Street

Milton Maldonado, 45, found in the middle of road; police investigating
(Long Island, NY) A Central Islip resident was discovered lying dead in the middle of a road at his home town Saturday night, prompting an intense investigation to determine what exactly happened to him, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Milton Maldonado, 45, was spotted by a passer-by face-down on Church Street, North of Suffolk Avenue, in Central Islip at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday evening, police said.
The passer-by immediately called 911 after discovering Maldonado. Suffolk Police who responded to the call arrived to find Maldonado unresponsive, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical examiners, according to authorities.
An autopsy for Maldonado is set to be preformed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, cops said.
While the possible cause of death is currently unknown, the Suffolk County Vehicular Crime Unit has been announced as being currently in charge of the investigation, suggesting that it may be the result of a traffic-related incident. Police have given no specific comments on the matter, however.
