(Rockville Centre, NY) Catholic Health Services (CHS) recently presented its Living the Mission Award to Barbara Hohwald for exemplifying the CHS mission values of respect, justice, integrity and excellence. Assistant director of accounts payable at CHS Services, Hohwald was nominated by her colleagues for her outstanding qualities. She and fellow honoree Frances Hopman were chosen from among more than 30 nominees. The award was presented to Hohwald, a Jericho resident, by CHS’s President and Chief Executive Officer Lawrence E. McManus.
“Barbara treats everyone with respect and leads by example,” said one colleague. Another added that Hohwald organized an adopt-a-family drive last Christmas and is always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
Catholic Health Services (CHS) is an integrated system encompassing some of the region’s finest health and human services agencies. With six acute care hospitals, three nursing homes, a home health agency, hospice, a community-based agency for persons with special needs and a regional lab, CHS’s high standards have resulted in a nearly 24% market share.
