(Long Island, NY) A 35 year old Lindenhurst man arrested for forcing two females, one a teenager, to work as prostitutes, was indicted by a grand jury, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
Andrew AKA “Andy” Gayot, was arrested last month when probation officers secured a search warrant for his residence at 258 North Greene Avenue, Lindenhurst, New York 11757.
“Cocaine, heroin and other narcotics were seized and further police investigation established Gayot intimidated these victims and used physical abuse as well as narcotics to compel them into prostitution,” District Attorney Spota said.
Two females, 15 and 21 years old, were held in a dark basement and, according to strong evidence, were beat with a hammer, an extension cord, and in one instance, a Taser. During another occasion, unsatisfied with the amount of money the teen victim acquired from a john, Gayot choked her. Gayot was even said to have threatened the two woman with a chainsaw and asked: “Now do you believe in the devil?”
Gayot advertised the prostitution services of his captives on Backpage.com online classifieds, officials said. The victims have not been identified because both women are the victims of sex crimes.
Andrew Gayot, 35, is charged with compelling prostitution, three counts of promoting prostitution, rape in the third degree, unlawful imprisonment, weapons charges, criminal possession of a controlled substance and other crimes, DA Spota said.
