ruizsolano.jpgSuffolk County Police arrested Ruiz Solano, 26, of Central Islip for allegedly the killing her newborn baby girl shortly after birth.

(Central Islip, NY) Today, Suffolk County Police arrested a Central Islip woman for the killing of her newborn earlier this week.

According to the report, Santos Elena Ruiz Solano gave birth to a baby girl on in the early hours of Sunday monrning at 40 Shoal Drive in West Islip, where she was worked as a live-in housekeeper.

The baby had suffered traumatic injuries shortly after her birth and died at the location. Ruiz Solano then placed the baby in a plastic bag and left the home.

Complications due to child birth forced the mother to seek medical care at a nearby hospital. The child was later recovered from a garbage can and given to hospital personnel, who called police.

Homicide Squad detectives charged Ruiz Solano, 26, of 375 Clift St, Central Islip, with Murder 2nd Degree. She will be held overnight for arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip tomorrow morning, February 21.
