Suffolk Detectives ID Vehicle Involved in Setauket Hit and Run; Looking for White 1999 to 2006 Hyundai

(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are asking the public’s assistance to locate a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Setauket on August 23, 2013.
According to the report, Joseph Santiago, 47, of 55 Ridgeway Ave., Setauket, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Ridgeway Avenue in Setauket on August 23, 2013 at approximately 1:20 a.m. The vehicle has been identified as a’99 – ’06 Hyundai.
Detectives have determined the vehicle involved is a white 1999 to 2006 Hyundai sedan. The vehicle possibly sustained lower front-end damage on the passenger side and/or undercarriage damage.
According to the report, Joseph Santiago, 47, of 55 Ridgeway Ave., Setauket, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Ridgeway Avenue in Setauket on August 23, 2013 at approximately 1:20 a.m.
Santiago was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Ridgeway Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
