Alleged Schizophrenic Axe Murderer from Medford Ordered Held Without Bail In Mother’s Death

(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police today arrested Sean Farrell for killing his mother in their home, located at 5 Norway Pine Drive, Medford, on December 9, 2013.
Homicide Section detectives charged Farrell with Murder 2nd Degree. He was held overnight at the 5th Precinct. Farrell, 24, was arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
The defendant, who allegedly suffers from Schizophrenia, is said to have killed his mother with an Axe striking her repeatedly, according to court documents.
Fifth Precinct police officers were called to the home located at 5 Norway Pine Drive after Eric Connelly, 47, found his wife, Bonnie Farrell, 45, dead in their bedroom. Bonnie had suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed.
