Police: Second Suspect Apprehended in Rockville Centre Robbery from December; Seek Third Subject

On January 8, 2014 detectives arrested Christopher Pilato, 25, of Oceanside. Pilato is being charged with 2 counts of Robbery and was arraigned on January 9, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.

(Rockville Center, NY) Two men were arrested on for beating a 22 year old victim and stealing his cash and iPhone from an incident that occurred on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:50p.m. in Rockville Centre.

According to detectives, a male victim, 22 years of age, met another male acquaintance on Shellbank Place.

Thomas Scanlan, 17 of East Rockaway was driving a White Infinity G37. After a brief conversation two additional male subjects arrived in Gray Infinity G37.

The victim began to run, but was stopped by all three subjects in the rear of a home on Shellbank Place. The subjects punched the victim and removed his iPhone and an unknown amount of cash, which was later recovered in the yard.

Christopher Pilato, 25 of Oceanside was arrested. The victim suffered minor injuries, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Defendant Scanlan was arrested on December 9, 2013 and was charged with 2 counts of Robbery. He was arraigned on December 10, 2013 at First District Court, Hempstead.

On January 8, 2014 detectives arrested Christopher Pilato, 25, of Oceanside. Pilato is being charged with 2 counts of Robbery and was arraigned on January 9, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.

A third subject is a male , 5’9” tall, medium build, 18-24 years old.
