(Melville, NY) A house fire killed an elderly man in Melville on Sunday, January 5 at 9:30p.m.
Suffolk County Police responded to a 911 call reporting a fire at a home located at 2627 New York Ave., at approximately 9:40 p.m.
According to Suffolk County Police, Firefighters battling the fire at 2627 New York Ave in Melville found the elderly man identified as Domenicko Denito, 92, dead on the first floor of the home. Image credit: Google Satellite Imagery
Firefighters battling the fire found an elderly man on the first floor of the home. The man, who was identified as Domenicko Denito, 92, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but police say it does not appear to be criminal in nature.
