Uniondale Man Arrested for Fraudulent Prescription Scheme

(Wantagh, NY) A Uniondale man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance on Monday evening in Wantagh, the Nassau County Narcotics Vice Bureau reported
On Monday, Jonathan S. Lewis tried to pick up a prescription at the CVS Pharmacy located on Merrick Road that he had dropped off the day before, according to police.
The prescription was for Promethazine with Codeine. The Pharmacist, recognizing the prescription to be fraudulent, notified police who responded and placed the suspect under arrest.
During the investigation Lewis was found to be in possession of 140 Oxycodone pills and eight fraudulent prescriptions filled out.
He is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and eight counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
